The Chicagoland Black Ministry Unit held its 4th Annual Candlelight Bowl on Saturday, May 1, 2004. The Candlelight Bowl is the CBMU's only fundraiser throughout the year. Funds raised are used for sponsoring youth who are nominated and selected to receive assistance in attending the annual Black Ministry Family Convocation.

2003 Candlelight Bowl

The 2003 Black Ministry Family Convocation was cancelled, but we were able to assist ten youth in attending the NID Senior Youth Gathering in Lisle.

Over 150 people gathered at Miami Bowl at 50th and Archer to participate in our fundraiser. The CBMU gave away over $500 in door prizes, including dining certificates, books, health and beauty products, software from Big Ideas, music CDs, craft kits and an original doll sculpture valued at over $250!

Because of the participation of several congregations, we were able to raise over $1,300 in ticket sales and donations alone! We received an additional $500 donation from the members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake. Praise the Lord for their generosity!
